Meissl on top – an interview with Seppi's Mountain Club

Portraits

The story of Seppi's Mountain Club dates back to Verena Kammerlander's grandfather Seppi, who built the very first ski hut high above Gerlos in 1967. His original approach of creating everything by hand, with little equipment, remains to this day: authentic, honest yet wonderfully original and down-to-earth – that's what Seppi's is all about.

Music clearly plays a key role here: the grandfather's „Zither“ afternoons, which still have their own little corner in the hut, gradually evolved into the modern DJ sessions of today. This is also where the Meissl solution comes in: “Without the umbrella, we wouldn't be able to play music here in bad weather and the terrace would be closed,” says host Johannes Kammerlander.

The special Meissl solution for Seppi's includes a movable umbrella with flexible curtains. According to the hosts, this has served as protection from the at times harsh conditions in the Zillertal mountains for years. Plus, “... the umbrella is simply impressive due to its size and cool to look at because of the way it opens and closes.”

A Meissl solution becomes a guest magnet and an integral part of a special concept and location: “The solution is simply coherent and suits us,” the hosts emphasize. Meissl is therefore the partner they were looking for to provide this unique mountain meeting point. Reliable, sustainable and long-term.
